Thai Govt to pay Bt5,000 monthly to workers hit by business shutdown

Thai workers not covered by the social security system will get a Bt5,000 monthly compensation from the government due to Covid-19 business shutdown.

 

The payment is aimed at temporary to help other types of workers affected by the March 21 order shutting down many businesses to enforce the social distancing measure and other measures.

 

The monthly payment is available for three months for those not already covered by the social security system, with the first paycheck due early next month, according to the government.

 

In addition, Cabinet also approved tax deferment and other measures to help businesses hit by Covid-19 pandemic.
