NIA encourages deep tech startups to apply for ‘Inno4 Farmers’

National Innovation Agency (NIA) in partnership with 12 alliances to arrange ‘Inno4 Farmers: The First Ag Tech Co-creation Program’  and encourages deep tech startups to apply this program until 12 July 2020.  This is the first hand-on and co-creation program in Thailand to jointly work between the startups and the leading agriculture organisations by sharing their experiences and pain points to come up with problem-solving solutions in creative and collaborative ways.   It is believed that new product development and prototype using applied deep technologies can help solving those problems in Thai agricultural sector and integrating business partnership, told by Dr. Pun-Arj Chairatana, Head of NIA.

Under a supervision of NIA’s Agro Business Creative Center (ABC Center), the said program’s purpose aims to develop agro startups with new technologies and agro innovation to increase productivity, more value-added, cost reduction, boost sustainable incomes.   This is in line with our national Agricultural Policy 4.0 and BCG model (Bio, Circular and Green economies for economic development) and ultimately to upgrade Thai agricultural sector in gaining competitive advantages in the global markets.

Dr. Pun-Arj added that this co-creation program will jump start those startups to come up with possible and practical solutions by applying  deep tech such as AI, Big data, IoT, sensors, drones, robotics in consultation with those experienced leading organizations in various agro fields such as rice, tapioca, sugarcanes, palms, fruits, corns, livestock, aquaculture, vegetables, agro machines.  It is a good opportunity for businesses to further enhance solutions with innovative technologies and also create Thai agro ecosystem integration by  pushing ahead our goals towards economic development.
