Workday, Inc. (NASDAQ:WDAY), a leader in enterprise cloud applications for finance and human resources, announced the appointment of Paul Henaghan to president of Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ).  Paul will report to Patrick Blair, president global sales at Workday.

Based in Singapore, Paul will lead Workday’s APJ sales efforts, as the company continues to accelerate growth in key markets across the region and with more than 800 customers headquartered in APJ.  Workday applications are now used by more than 50% of the Fortune 500.

“Over the last three years, I have had the privilege of working with an incredible group of employees and partners to help empower our customers to adapt and build organisational agility in today’s dynamic business landscape,” said Paul Henaghan, president of APJ, Workday.  “It is an exciting time to be leading Workday, as we build on our momentum and accelerate our growth in this region.  The digital economy is booming and customers are looking to partner with an organisation that can help them navigate the future of work driven by AI and ML innovation.”

With over two decades of experience in the enterprise technology sector, Paul brings with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise in business development, sales analytics, sales field operations, partner ecosystems, and value engineering. He joined Workday in 2020 to lead APJ field operations with his most recent role as vice president of field operations, international.

Workday’s former president of APJ, David Webster has made the decision to step down from his role and will serve in an advisory capacity until April when he will retire from Workday. David joined Workday in July 2019 in the role of president of APJ and during this time has delivered significant growth, with the APJ customer base more than doubling.

“Building on the tremendous foundation David established for Workday in APJ and with Paul’s deep understanding of Workday’s business and impressive track record in sales strategy and business development across markets, we are well positioned to further expand our reach in this emerging region where there is huge potential to increase our customer base,” said Patrick Blair, president global sales, Workday.  “A collaborative leader, Paul is committed to belonging, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace and is passionate about leading with values putting people and customers first.”
